This Standard replaced GB/T 5671-1995 General Purpose Lithium Base Grease for Automobile. Compared with GB/T 5671-1995, this Standard has the major changes as follows. --- Delete “electric generator” in the application scope; --- Add the low temperature torque index; and delete the similar viscosity index; --- In the impurity items; change the number of particles with diameter10µm above from the original no greater than 5000 pieces/cm3 into no greater than 2000 pieces/cm3; change the number of particles with diameter 25µm above from the original no greater than 3000 pieces/cm3 into no greater than 1000 pieces/cm3; change the number of particles with diameter 75µm above from the original no greater than 500 pieces/cm3 into no greater than 200 pieces/cm3; --- Express the anticorrosive property according to the result expressing mode stipulated in the newly revised GB/T 5018, changing from the original “no more than Grade-1” into “qualified”; --- Add the No.3 consistency grades and technical indicators for the No.3 general purpose lithium lubricating grease for automobile; --- Add Chapter 3 Classification and Marking; --- Add Chapter 5 Inspection Rules. This Standard is not equivalent to the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS K2220-2003 Class-1 Lubricating Grease for Automobile Wheel Bearing in the aspect of consistency degree. This Standard was proposed by National Technical Committee for Standardization of Petroleum Products and Lubricants (SAC TC/280). General Purpose Lithium Lubricating Grease for Automobile 1 Scope This Standard specifies the classification and mark, requirements and test methods, inspection rules, marking, package, transportation and storage of the general purpose lithium lubricating grease for automobile. This Standard is applicable to the lubricating grease made by adding antioxidant and antirust additives into the fatty acid lithium soap thick mineral base oil.
