The selected vehicle or engine shall be agreed upon by the applicant and the testing agency in accordance with the requirements of emission regulations. The engine or vehicle to be tested shall be in good mechanical condition. Before the test, the heavy-duty vehicle engine has been fit-in running for at least 40 hours; the light-duty vehicle has been in fit-in running for at least 3000 km. The engine or vehicle shall be free from the defects of the emission control system. The original parts that are excessively worn or the emission control failure shall be repaired or replaced. Before the emission test, the engine or vehicle shall be correctly adjusted to the technical specifications specified by the manufacturer. b) A sample of approval catalytic reduction system. The sample shall be clearly and persistently marked with the approval applicant’s factory name, trademark and trade name. c) In addition, a certified catalytic reduction system sample shall be added for use in vehicles equipped with an on-board diagnostic (OBD) system. The sample shall be clearly and persistently marked with the applicant’s factory name, trademark and trade name. The sample must be degraded in accordance with 3.10. 5 Approval 5.1 If the catalytic reduction system submitted for approval in accordance with the provisions of this part meets the requirements of Chapter 6, the approval of the type of catalytic reduction system is permitted. 5.2 If the original catalytic reduction system used for approval is of the type covered by Appendix A and is used for the engine or vehicle involved in the relevant type approval documents, it shall only meet the following requirements and no longer need to be certified according to the provisions of this part: a) The original catalytic reduction system used for approval shall have at least the following signs: 1) The name or trademark of the engine or vehicle manufacturer; 2) For the brand and part identification number of the original approval catalytic reduction system, see the information listed in 5.3. 5.5 If the requesting party for type approval can prove to the type approval management department or testing organization that the catalytic reduction system is of the type listed in Appendix A, then the type approval certificate may be approved, without requiring verification in accordance with the requirements as specified in Chapter 6. 5.6 Refer to the sample form stipulated in Appendix C, to send a notice on the type approval, approval extension or approval rejection of a certain type of catalytic reduction system according to the provisions of this part to the contracting parties adopting the provisions of this part . 5.7 If the approval catalytic reduction system conforms to a certain type of catalytic reduction system certified in accordance with the provisions of this part, the approval mark consisting of the following patterns shall be marked in the specified position of the approval form: a) In a circle, write the letter E and the identification number of the country where the approval is made, which is consistent with the international identification number1) (if required); b) Note the standard number of this part and a dash and approval number on the side of the abovementioned circle. 5.8 If the approval catalytic reduction system conforms to the type of catalytic reduction system as approved according to the other standards as attached to the agreement at the country where the approval of this part is performed, there is no need to repeat the symbols described in 5.7. At this time, the standard number and approval number, as well as the additional symbols of all standards used in the approval of the country where this part of the approval is located, shall be marked on the right side of the symbol in 5.7 along the line. 5.9 If the approval catalytic reduction system is installed under the vehicle, the approval mark shall be durable and easy to identify. 5.10 See Appendix D for an example of the arrangement of approval marks. 6 Requirements 6.1 General requirements 6.1.1 The product mark of the catalytic reduction system shall be represented by the following numbers and letters: 1 See the provisions of 4.6.1 in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UN/ECE) No.103 Regulation. 6.1.4 The approval catalytic reduction system shall be installed in the same position of the original catalytic reduction system; it shall not change the position of the nitrogen oxide sensor and other applicable sensors on the exhaust pipe. 6.1.5 If the original catalytic reduction system adopts thermal protection measures, the approval catalytic reduction system shall also have equivalent protection facilities. 6.1.6 The approval catalytic reduction system shall be durable; its design, manufacture and installation shall be such that the vehicle can be protected from corrosion and oxidation under the conditions of use. 6.1.7 Before the test, the approval catalytic reduction system shall be pre- conditioned for 5 h under the condition that the inlet temperature of the sample is 500 °C ± 25 °C, the space velocity is (40000 ± 400) h-1, or in accordance with the provisions of Table BA.1 in GB 17691-2005 at the engine speed A and 100% load. 6.2 Emission-related requirements 6.2.1 General Install on engine or vehicle that meets the requirements .......Source: https://www.ChineseStandard.net/PDF.aspx/JBT11880.1-2014 |
